The KeyBank Foundation has announced a $1.4 million commitment to four nonprofits in the Albany, New York, area working to address workforce development, housing insecurities, and homeownership initiatives.

Awarded as part of KeyBank’s $40 billion National Community Benefits Plan, which represents its commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, the grants include $325,000 to the Social Enterprise and Training Center (SEAT), which will be used to boost its YouthBuild Schenectady and Albany programs; $600,000 to the Ellis Hospital Foundation in support of the Ellis Promise program at Ellis Medicine; $300,000 to the Troy Rehabilitation & Improvement Program in support of its Renters Build Wealth program; and $200,000 to the Interfaith Partnership for the Homeless in support of its community-based programs.

“KeyBank’s roots are in the capital region, and we have a long, proud history of supporting organizations here and in all of the communities we serve,” said KeyBank Capital Region Market president Fran O’Rourke. “With these grants, we are lifting up and amplifying efforts that will make our communities even stronger through workforce training, financial education, and economic development.”
