Kohl’s awards $8 million to local nonprofits

The retailer Kohl’s has announced grants totaling $8 million to more than a hundred and fifty local organizations across the country dedicated to addressing health and wellness needs.

Grants were awarded across through the company’s A Community with Heart program. Recipients include the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Southeast Wisconsin in Milwaukee, which was awarded $50,000 to expand its youth outreach and parent support programs; Food Link in Arlington, Massachusetts, which will receive $100,000 to preserve more fresh protein, dairy, and produce and provide local families a variety of food with high nutritional value; and Children’s Advocacy Center of Collin County in Plano, Texas, which was awarded $100,000 to provide services to children and families in crises, including therapeutic counseling, family advocacy and support services, forensic interviews, and emergency assistance.

“At Kohl’s, we understand the importance of giving back. That’s why this holiday season, we are honored to celebrate these local nonprofits that generously serve their respective communities with all of their hearts,” said Kohl’s chief marketing officer Greg Revelle. “These organizations from across the country turn hopes into action. Hand-selected by our associates, the more than a hundred and fifty nonprofits selected exemplify what it means to serve others, and we are proud to provide support that will enable them to expand their efforts.”
