Kohl’s has announced a $3 million commitment to Children’s Wisconsin in support of three additional mental health walk-in clinic locations in Wisconsin.

The donation, made through the Kohl’s Cares philanthropic program in recognition of National Mental Health Awareness Month, will provide immediate mental health support to children and youth ages 5 to 18 at clinics staffed with licensed therapists and social workers. The funding bolsters the hospital's efforts to raise awareness, remove barriers, and make critical mental health services more accessible to youth and families across the state.

Data from the Wisconsin Office of Children’s Mental Health show that in 2021, more than a third of Wisconsin public school students reported feeling sad or hopeless almost every day for more than two weeks in a row.

“Wisconsin kids are telling us what kids all over the country have been telling us—this is a crisis,” said Children’s Wisconsin vice president of mental and behavioral health Amy Herbst. “We know that more Wisconsin kids will begin a path to better health and healing.”
