Kress Foundation Awards $1 Million to Wisconsin Medical Center

St. Mary's Medical Center in Green Bay, Wisconsin, has received a $1 million grant from the George Kress Foundation, the Green Bay News-Chronicle reports.

The grant, the largest in St. Mary's one-hundred-year history, will support the construction of a $13.5 million addition that will house an expanded emergency services department and provide the opportunity for an enhanced inpatient and outpatient surgery care. New features to be incorporated into the center include negative pressure rooms to contain communicable diseases, modular rooms that can be changed from primary care to emergency rooms, on-site X-ray services, an ambulance garage, improved security, and a family support and children's play area.

"The Kress family foundation is pleased to support St. Mary's Hospital in this era of competitive health care," said foundation spokesman John Kress. "We want St. Mary's to continue the best possible care for our community."
