Lilly Endowment awards $25 million to Thurgood Marshall College Fund
The Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) has announced a $25 million grant from the Lilly Endowment in support of capacity building at historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs).
The grant will support Project HBCU Capacity Building: Maximizing HBCU Performance Through Investments in Research, Operations and Innovation. Through strategic investments and partnerships, the project will address infrastructure needs and accelerate innovation across TMCF member schools, including enhancing administrative systems and processes; facilitating collaborative learning and resources in enrollment, student support services, and community engagement; and providing grant opportunities and technical assistance.
“This monumental grant will enable the Thurgood Marshall College Fund to better serve its campuses and students, providing opportunities for funding to implement innovative projects that address unique challenges,” said TMCF president and CEO Harry L. Williams. “We’re thankful for the trust placed in us by Lilly Endowment to carry out this work.”
