The Indianapolis-based Lilly Endowment has announced grants totaling $4.6 million in support of local organizations’ efforts to reduce gun violence across the city.

Two-year grants ranging from $100,000 to $500,000 were awarded to 18 organizations whose programs vary in focus, including mentorship, mental health, job training, and outreach. In 2022, the endowment made pilot grants totaling $3 million to 13 organizations which are now joined by five additional recipients, including Boys & Girls Clubs of Indianapolis, Martin Luther King Multi-Service Center, New Breed of Youth Mentoring Program, Pathway to the Future Learning Center, and Reach for Youth.

“Violence intervention programs play an important role in helping to ensure that Indianapolis is a safe, livable, and caring community for all its residents,” said Lilly Endowment vice president for community development Ronni Kloth. “We are pleased to support the efforts of organizations dedicated to working to reduce violence in neighborhoods across Indianapolis.”
