Philanthropist MacKenzie Scott has announced gifts totaling more than $1.99 billion.

Over the last seven months, Scott awarded gifts to 343 organizations working to support underserved communities. In her post on Medium, Scott explained that many of the organizations are funds, which pool donations and spread them across smaller organizations with similar missions.

According to Scott, the funds she selected feature “teams with lived experience in the issues they’re addressing.” In the post, Scott also indicated that a database detailing these recipients, as well as previous grant recipients, will be released soon, featuring information supplied by the organizations themselves. Scott did not release the amounts of individual gifts.

“I recently learned a saying used in disability communities: ‘Nothing about us without us.’ For me, it’s another beautiful and powerful reminder,” wrote Scott in the Medium post. “I needn’t ask those I care about what to say to them, or what to do for them. I can share what I have with them to stand behind them as they speak and act for themselves.”
