Mizzou Athletics receives $62 million anonymous gift
The University of Missouri has announced a $62 million anonymous gift in support of renovations to Memorial Stadium and the athletics department’s Tiger Scholarship Fund program.
The largest gift to Mizzou Athletics designates $50 million for improvements to the university’s football stadium, and $12 million to Mizzou’s Tiger Fund—a charitable program through the Tiger Scholarship Fund that benefits student-athletes. Stadium improvements include creating new seating and an open-air, mixed-use development along the stadium’s North Concourse area that could produce modernized year-round revenue opportunities. The $12 million commitment to the Tiger Fund will provide student-athletes with resources for travel, equipment, educational opportunities, marketing, mental wellness support, and mental performance coaching.
“This extraordinary commitment is a major step toward fulfilling our vision to transform Memorial Stadium and create the best college football game-day atmosphere in the country,” said the university’s director of athletics, Desireé Reed-Francois. “Our pivotal stadium project is not possible without our donor, whose passion for Mizzou’s success, coupled with humility, faith, and generosity, are unparalleled.”
“A gift of this kind speaks to the tremendous loyalty this particular donor has for not only our football program, but all of our student-athletes at Mizzou,” said football coach Eliah Drinkwitz.
