Motion Picture & Television Fund Receives $6 Million for Health Center

The Motion Picture and Television Fund has announced a $6 million gift from Samuel Goldwyn, Jr. and the Samuel Goldwyn Foundation to establish a behavioral health center in Woodland Hills, California.

Made as part of a $350 million fundraising campaign, the gift from the Goldwyn family, which has contributed more than $55 million to MPTF over the organization's 93-year history, will establish the Samuel Goldwyn, Jr. Center for Behavioral Health, a twelve-bed treatment center to be constructed on the fund's Woodland Hills campus. Affiliated with UCLA Health, the new center will feature an interdisciplinary treatment team that uses a holistic approach to behavioral management for patients age 55 and older. A portion of the gift also will bolster an endowment fund at the Samuel Goldwyn Foundation Children's Center in West Los Angeles.

"What is amazing to me is not just the legacy of extraordinary generosity from Sam and his family, but the impact their giving has had on so many people in our industry," said MPTF chair Jeffrey Katzenberg. "This new gift to the MPTF Campaign not only funds a new twelve-bed behavioral health unit on our campus but also ensures the Children's Center will continue to thrive in the years ahead."
