Mount Nittany Health Foundation in State College, Pennsylvania, has announced a $5 million gift from Stephen and Patricia Benkovic to establish a fund designed to attract more specialty physicians to the region.

The largest gift in the history of the foundation will establish the Benkovic Fund for Community Investment to address critical needs in specialty physician recruitment. To that end, the fund will focus on initiatives to attract top medical talent to the region, supporting strategic recruitment efforts that meet the needs of the community.

“Steve and Pat’s commitment to local health care is inspiring and will leave a lasting impact on our community,” said Mount Nittany Health president and CEO Kathleen Rhine. “This gift allows Mount Nittany Health to recruit dedicated physicians and meet the growing needs of the community.”
