National Library of Israel launches Lynda & Stewart Resnick Fellowship

The National Library of Israel in Jerusalem has announced the launch of the Lynda and Stewart Resnick Fellowship.

Established by an eight-figure gift, the largest ever given in Israel by California-based couple Stewart and Lynda Resnick, the five-month fellowship program will include remote and in-person elements at the library. The first cohort of fellows will begin during the 2023-24 academic year, after the new campus opens near the Israeli Knesset later this year. In recognition of the Resnicks’ gift, the library also will name its entrance hall and plaza after the couple.

“The National Library of Israel is grateful to the Resnicks for their belief in our mission and most generous support,” said National Library of Israel director Oren Weinberg. “The new Stewart and Lynda Resnick Fellowship will further position the National Library and the city of Jerusalem as a leading international cultural and intellectual hub. We look forward to tens of thousands of annual visitors to our new home passing through the Stewart and Lynda Resnick Entrance Plaza and Entrance Hall, on their way to discovering the vast treasures safeguarded within the National Library’s walls.”
