Otto Bremer Trust awards grants, PRIs totaling $8.6 million

The St. Paul-based Otto Bremer Trust has announced grants and program-related investments totaling more than $8.6 million in support of nonprofits in Minnesota, North Dakota, and Wisconsin.

Recipients of the grants include Northwoods Women in Ashland, Wisconsin, which will receive $150,000 to expand prevention, crisis intervention, and other services for victims and survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault; the Impact Foundation in Fargo, North Dakota, which was awarded $95,000 to provide school-age youth with healthy, safe, and alcohol- and drug-free enrichment activities; and Productive Alternatives in Fergus Falls, Minnesota, which will receive $150,000 to create a regional vocational and day services center in Alexandria to better meet the needs of those with disabilities. Other recipients include South East Education Cooperative (Fargo, North Dakota; $82,000), Evergreen Youth & Family Services (Bemidji, Minnesota; $100,000), Minnesota Indian Women's Resource Center (Minneapolis, Minnesota; $75,000), Community and Economic Development Associates (Chatfield, Minnesota; $145,000), and Holmen Area Community Center (Onalaska, Wisconsin, $100,000).

"With this latest round of grants, we are reminded of the critical need that communities and individuals across the region continue to have as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and its health and economic impacts," said Otto Bremer Trust co-CEO and trustee Charlotte Johnson.
