The California Wellness Foundation has announced the hiring of five new staff members. JUAN REYNOSO, JESSICA MARTINEZ, and TOMMY MORRIS joined the foundation as program officers. Reynoso previously supported planning for and operationalizing health equity and environmental justice in cities, counties, and public agencies across California. Martinez has experience in collaborative partnerships, program development, and innovative grantmaking. Morris is an experienced community organizer and policy advocate. JAVIER HERNANDEZ, who was selected as director of investments, previously served as director at Avivar Capital. And TERESA BARANOWSKI, selected as the foundation’s office services coordinator, has experience in administrative, facilities, and legal industries.
The McElhattan Foundation in Pittsburgh has announced the promotions of GINA EVANS to senior program officer and STEPHANIE SWEAT to the newly created position of director of grants management. Evans joined the foundation in August 2019 as an education program officer. Sweat joined the foundation in February 2021 as an office administrator and data analyst.
Americares in Stamford, Connecticut, has announced the selection of JOSAPHAT MSHIGHATI as country director of Americares Tanzania. Mshighati previously served as the regional technical advisor for Pathfinder International’s East and Southern Africa climate resilience program.
Cool Effect in San Francisco has announced the appointment of JOHANNA DEPENTHAL as director of project research. Depenthal has a decade of experience in field research and data analysis in support of environmental conservation and community development projects.
Global Health Council in Washington, D.C., has announced the appointment of four board members, as well as its new chair. AMY BOLDOSSER-BOESCH was elected board chair; she currently serves as the senior director and practice area lead for health policy, advocacy, and engagement at Management Sciences for Health. New board members include CRAIG MOLYNEAUX, chief operating officer at the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation; AMANUEL MOGES HAILE, founder of MELLA in Ethiopia; DUHA ALI, a medical doctor with more than six years of experience in promoting women’s health and rights; and HANNAH COOPER KLEIN, co-founder and CEO of Cooper/Smith.
The National Philanthropic Trust in Jenkintown, Pennsylvania, has announced the appointment of HOLLY WELCH STUBBING as president and CEO to succeed EILEEN HEISMAN, who has retired. Welch Stubbing previously served as president and CEO of E4E Relief, a national charitable organization offering emergency financial relief programs for global companies and communities.
