Bonfils-Stanton Foundation in Denver has announced the appointment of DAMON MCLEESE to its board of trustees. In addition, HAROLD R. LOGAN, JR., has stepped down after 18 years of board service. McLeese is the executive director of Access Gallery where he has served for more than 25 years.
The Claude Worthington Benedum Foundation in Pittsburgh has appointed BILL WOODRUM as senior program officer. Woodrum has been working to advance community and economic development initiatives in West Virginia for the past 30 years. His career spans efforts in systems building, fund development, small business development, technology transfer, extension programs, and agriculture.
The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation has announced the appointment of SEPI SEPASI as chief financial officer, effective July 5, 2022. Sepasi joins the foundation after serving as vice dean of finance and administration at Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health.
The Onion Foundation in Auburn, Maine, has announced the appointment of DIANA MORRIS as its inaugural executive director. Morris served as the director of Open Society Institute-Baltimore, the U.S. field office of the Open Society Foundations, for more than two decades, where she helped develop the Open Places Initiative, which built civic capacity in Buffalo, San Diego, and Puerto Rico.
The Surdna Foundation in New York City has announced the promotion of SOPHY YEM to senior program officer. Yem will continue to lead the foundation’s grantmaking, engagement, and relationship building to support the capacity, infrastructure, and equitable practices of nonprofit- and philanthropy-serving organizations, donor collaboratives, and other funders, especially family foundations. She also oversees the Andrus Family Philanthropy Program, where she works to engage the Andrus family, particularly its younger generations, in philanthropy and public service.
The Philadelphia-based Barnes Foundation has announced that GREGORY E. DEAVENS, president and CEO of Independence Health Group, has been elected to its board of trustees. In addition, current trustee ARMANDO I. BENGOCHEA has been named a Lincoln University-nominated trustee, having been officially presented by Lincoln University’s board of trustees and elected by the Barnes Foundation’s board.
American Ballet Theatre has announced that SUSAN JAFFE will be the company’s next artistic director. Jaffe will succeed KEVIN MCKENZIE, who last spring announced his intent to retire after the 2022 season, following three decades of leadership. A former principal dancer for the company, Jaffe was appointed artistic director of Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre (PBT) in July 2020 and has since led that company in new artistic achievements, including choreographing a new Swan Lake (2022) and stewarding PBT’s presence during the COVID-19 pandemic and successful return to the stage.
Autism Speaks has announced the appointment of THOMAS W. FRAZIER to the organization’s board of directors. Frazier is currently a professor of psychology at John Carroll University and executive vice president for virtual and clinical care at Quadrant Biosciences, a molecular diagnostics company focused on neurological disorders and other health conditions.
The Helios Education Foundation in Phoenix has announced the expansion of its board of directors with the appointment of JIM SWANSON, a top business executive and longtime education advocate in Arizona. Swanson is president and CEO of Phoenix-based Kitchell, where he oversees more than 1,100 employee-owners along with company operations in Arizona, California, Iowa, and Texas.
The National Alliance to End Homelessness has announced the appointment of ANN OLIVA as its new CEO, effective June 13. She will succeed NAN ROMAN.
The Van Wezel Foundation in Sarasota, Florida, has announced that SARA ROBINSON will join the foundation as executive director of advancement on June 1, 2022. Robinson will be responsible for creating and implementing innovative development programs for the campaign to build a new Sarasota Performing Arts Center.

Cohen and Santiago will lead fundraising efforts to expand and diversify the organization’s major gift donors, family, and institutional foundations. In addition, NA ENG has been appointed chief communications officer.
