The Albert and Mary Lasker Foundation in New York City has announced the appointment of BETSY NABEL to chair its board of directors. A member of the Lasker Foundation board since 2020, Nabel is a former executive vice president for strategy at ModeX Therapeutics, now an OPKO HEALTH company.

The George Gund Foundation in Cleveland has announced the selection of DONOVAN YOUNG as program officer. Young previously served as program associate for social impact and strategy at the Char and Chuck Fowler Family Foundation.

The JPB Foundation in New York City has announced the addition of senior staff as well as three fellows. RAKIM H.D. BROOKS was selected as senior vice president of risk and legal strategies and previously served as president of the Alliance for Justice. New fellows include LISA ABBOTT as a senior fellow in the community and worker power program; MARIANA RUIZ FIRMAT as a senior fellow, movement infrastructure and explorations; and DARLENE NIPPER as a visiting senior fellow in movement infrastructure and explorations.

The Walton Family Foundation has announced the selection of RADHIKA FOX as an environment program fellow. Fox, who will work out of the foundation’s Washington, D.C., office, is a former assistant administrator for the Environmental Protection Agency’s office of water and previously led the US Water Alliance.

The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation in Menlo Park, California, has announced the appointment of AMBER D. MILLER as president. Miller is an astrophysicist who has served as a dean at both the University of Southern California and Columbia University.

The Foundation for the National Institutes of Health in North Bethesda, Maryland, has announced the elections of JAMES W. DOWN and PERRY STEINER to its board of directors. Down is a former vice chair of Mercer Management Consulting. Steiner is chair and CEO of Xactus.

The New York Public Library has announced the selection of JENNIFER LÓPEZ as chief digital officer. López previously served as vice president of product development at Capital One.

The United Nations Foundation in Washington, D.C., has announced the appointment of MARC-ANDRÉ BLANCHARD and SUSANA MALCORRA to its board of directors. Blanchard is executive vice-president and head of CDPQ global and global head of sustainability. Malcorra is president and co-founder of GWL Voices, an association working to advance women’s leadership in global cooperation.
