Arnold Ventures has announced the appointment of GEORGE CALLAS as executive vice president of public finance. In his new role, he will catalyze data and research to drive effective, evidence-based, nonpartisan solutions to ensure fiscal sustainability and good stewardship of taxpayer dollars. Callas most recently worked at Steptoe & Johnson LLP, advising some of the world's largest corporations on tax policy matters; prior to that, he served for fifteen years on Capitol Hill as a senior tax counsel in the U.S. House of Representatives.

The Colorado Trust has announced the appointment of JODEEN OLGUÍN-TAYLER as executive director of Community Partnerships, the trust's largest grantmaking strategy. Olguín-Tayler most recently served on the global leadership team for B Lab; her previous positions include vice president of Demos, where she launched the Inclusive Democracy Project; campaigns director for the National Domestic Workers Alliance; and deputy field director for MoveOn.org.

The Ford Foundation has announced the appointment of SALIH BOOKER to the newly created position of senior program officer for international cooperation and global governance. Booker most recently served as president and CEO of the Center for International Policy, where he led efforts to facilitate international cooperation to promote human rights and solve global challenges, specifically issues related to racism and militarism in U.S. foreign policy. In his new role, Booker will be responsible for launching efforts to inform and convene institutions and actors that are instrumental in addressing inequality and will work to foster dialogue and strategic alliances among NGOs and governments, with a focus on U.S. policy.

The Kresge Foundation has announced that health program managing director MONICA VALDES LUPI has accepted an invitation to join an advisory committee to the director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The fourteen-member advisory committee provides counsel to the CDC director, the secretary of health and human services, and the assistant secretary for health on policy and broad strategies that will enable CDC to fulfill its mission of protecting the nation's health.

The W.T. Grant Foundation has announced that HIROKAZU YOSHIKAWA has joined its board of trustees, effective October 2021. Yoshikawa is a community and developmental psychologist who studies the effects of public policies and programs related to immigration, early childhood, gender and sexuality, and poverty reduction on children's development. He currently is a University Professor at New York University, the Courtney Sale Ross Professor of Globalization and Education at NYU Steinhardt, and co-director of the Global TIES for Children center at NYU.

Autism Speaks has announced the election of JENNIFER SEIDEL to its national board, effective August 2021. Seidel, who has spent more than two decades in advertising industry leadership roles and currently serves on the digital partnerships team at Mastercard, left the workforce for five years following her daughter's autism diagnosis to focus on therapy and educational programming.

Birthright Israel Foundation has announced that PHILIP DE TOLEDO has been elected board chair, succeeding Thomas D. Stern, whose term expires at the end of 2021. The board also elected DOUGLAS M. ROSS and LORI KOMISAR as vice chairs and LAWRENCE J. COHEN as treasurer. The retired president of the Capital Group Companies, de Toledo first joined Birthright Israel Foundation's board in 2020. He also serves as board chair of the Skirball Cultural Center and immediate past president and board member of de Toledo High School.

The Guitar Center Music Foundation, a California-based nonprofit focused on providing instruments and services to music education organizations, has announced the appointment of MYKA MILLER as executive director. A musician herself, Miller most recently served as executive director and CEO of Harmony Project, a music education organization in Los Angeles.

World Resources Institute has announced the appointment of PREETY MALHOTRA BHANDARI as senior advisor. Bhandari will provide strategic advice and guidance to climate-vulnerable countries via the Allied for Climate Transformation by 2025 (ACT2025) initiative, with a focus on issues related to adaptation, resilience, finance, and loss and damage. She also will provide strategic expertise to supporting WRI's efforts on international climate action, including climate finance and just transition. Prior to joining WRI, she served as chief for climate change and disaster risk management at the Asian Development Bank and coordinator of finance, technology, and capacity building at the secretariat of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
