The Gill Foundation in Denver has announced that HEIDI OVERBECK will step down as chief strategy officer in early 2024 after six years in the role. As a result, STEPH PERKINS will be promoted to senior director of programs, and MICHAEL DABBS will be promoted to senior director of impact to lead communications strategy and evaluation. Perkins joined the foundation as a program officer in 2020 after 12 years at PROMO, Missouri’s statewide LGBTQ advocacy organization, including five years as executive director. Dabbs joined the foundation in 2019, after working as a communications consultant at RBI Strategies and Research for five years.
The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation has announced that JENNIFER HARRIS will rejoin the foundation as director of its Economy and Society Initiative, overseeing an expanded annual grantmaking budget of $20 million to foster a “new common sense” about how the economy works and the aims it should serve. Harris helped launch the initiative before joining the Biden administration in 2021 as special assistant to the president and senior director, international economics on the National Security Council and National Economic Council.
The Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation in Kansas City, Missouri, has announced the appointment of BRANDY JOHNSON as chief people officer, effective on January 3. Johnson previously served as vice president, human resources, responsible for talent management, organizational design, and people strategy at Compass Minerals.
Burlington, Vermont-based 1% for the Planet, which was co-founded by Patagonia founder Yvon Chouinard to encourage corporations to donate at least 1 percent of their annual sales directly to environmental organizations, has announced the election of three new board members: ANNIKA BERMAN is a deputy director of strategy at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation; MADELYN POSTMAN is joint managing director and co-owner of Grain Sustainability, a consultancy with the mission to help organizations champion people and the planet; and Dr. MARCIUS EXTAVOUR launched the TIME100 Climate list of the world’s influential leaders taking business action on climate change and previously served as chief scientist and executive vice president of climate and energy at XPRIZE Foundation.
The Ad Council in New York City has announced the appointment of CORRINA GREENBERG as chief revenue and development officer, succeeding BARBARA LESHINSKY, who is retiring after 19 years. Prior to joining the Ad Council, Greenberg was vice president of development at New York Public Radio.
AltaSea at the Port of Los Angeles has announced the hiring of JADE CLEMONS to lead its Blue Sustainable Economy Alliance (“BlueSEA”), a business support program that provides operation, development, and investment services and facilities for innovators scaling businesses in ocean industries. Clemons most recently served as senior program manager at the Berggruen Institute.
The Metropolitan Museum of Art has announced the appointment of JANE PANETTA as the Aaron I. Fleischman Curator in the Department of Modern and Contemporary Art. Panetta joins The Met from the Whitney Museum of American Art, where she is currently the Nancy and Fred Poses Curator and Director of the Collection.
