Pew Trusts Awards More Than $7 Million to Philadelphia-Area Groups
The Pew Charitable Trusts has announced grants totaling more than $7.3 million to forty-five health and human service agencies in the metro Philadelphia area.
Grants ranging from $95,000 to $324,000 over three years were awarded through the Pew Fund for Health and Human Services in Philadelphia to nonprofits working to help low-income adults find employment, improve outcomes for people with significant mental health challenges, and provide services to people with complex needs.
Grant recipients include Tech Impact, which was awarded $154,000 to help young adults secure employment in the information-technology sector; Philadelphia FIGHT, which will receive $180,000 in continuing support to provide behavioral health services to individuals with HIV/AIDS and co-occurring mental health or addiction problems; Women Against Abuse, which was awarded $194,000 to provide behavioral health services to victims of domestic violence living in its Philadelphia shelter; and Project HOME, which will receive $324,000 to continue providing a broad range of services to the chronically homeless.
"Pew is pleased to support these agencies, which have demonstrated their capacity to improve lives by providing critical services, including counseling, substance abuse treatment, skills training, and job placement," said Michael Dahl, senior vice president of Pew's Philadelphia program.
