Rasmuson Foundation awards $7.5 million for projects across Alaska
The Rasmuson Foundation in Anchorage, Alaska, has announced grants totaling more than $7.5 million in support of projects across the state.
Grants were awarded for 17 projects, including efforts to invest in Alaskan youth, boost support for working families, and promote healthier communities. The awards include $600,000 to Residential Youth Care in Ketchikan to help build a youth center and community hub that will offer accessible services, meeting rooms, study spaces, and creative outlets; $350,000 to Girdwood, Inc., in support of a new childcare facility for Little Bears Playhouse childhood center; and $750,000 to Recover Alaska, renewing support for the statewide collaboration’s efforts to change public attitudes toward alcohol, increase access to treatment, and advocate for policies fostering healthier communities.
“There are Alaskan organizations working every day to be a catalyst for change in their communities,” said Rasmuson Foundation president and CEO Gretchen Guess. “Having the opportunity to partner with them ignites inspiration and meaning into what we aspire to do at Rasmuson Foundation: amplify and support their work.”
