Regis College in Weston, Massachusetts, has announced a $2 million gift from the Cummings Foundation to fund a nursing endowment and health clinic.

The gift will endow the Richard and Sheila Young School of Nursing dean position, which will be named for alumna Carol A. Donovan (‘59), a trustee emerita of the foundation and former Massachusetts state representative. In addition, the gift will support a new health clinic in Woburn providing hands-on training to Regis nursing students, while offering services to the local community where the foundation is based.

“The Young School of Nursing [comprises] so many compassionate and talented nursing faculty and students,” said Carol A. Donovan Endowed Dean of Nursing Sharon Higgins. “Our expansion to Woburn will allow us to provide high-level care to patients, while ensuring our students are receiving the highest-quality clinical experience.”
