Former president Barack Obama and Michelle Obama, Airbnb co-founder and CEO Brian Chesky, and the Obama Foundation have announced a second cohort of recipients of the Voyager Scholarship for Public Service.

Funded by a $100 million gift from Chesky to the Obama Foundation, the two-year scholarship program will provide individuals who plan to pursue a career in public service with up to $50,000 in financial aid, a $10,000 stipend, and free Airbnb housing to pursue an immersive work-travel experience, as well as an annual summit and access to a network of Obama Foundation leaders and mentors. This year, 100 college juniors representing 33 states and territories and 75 colleges and universities were awarded the Voyager Scholarships.

“Michelle and I can’t wait to work with these talented young people over the next few years as they pursue careers in public service,” said Obama. “Their dedication to public service and their determination to solve global challenges inspire hope for a brighter future. We know that this scholarship will not only change their lives, but the world.”
