Semper Fi, Parsons Foundation raise more than $20 million for veterans

Semper Fi & America’s Fund and the Bob & Renee Parsons Foundation have announced that they raised more than $20 million in support of veterans’ programs.

With the help of a $10 million dollar-for-dollar matching grant from the foundation, the tenth annual Double Down for Veterans Campaign exceeded its $20 million goal in under two months. Semper Fi & America’s Fund will use the funds to provide immediate, need-based financial assistance and tailored support for critically wounded, ill, or injured service members, veterans, and military families across all branches.

“There are so many examples I could give of how [Semper Fi & America’s Fund] has been there over the years,” said Gabe, a U.S. Marine who was injured in Iraq. “They help individuals like me regain that independence and have a new mission — that’s really the biggest thing. They truly are family. I love them like they were my own family.”

“Veterans who are wounded in the line of duty, and facing both physical and psychological battles, come home to a very different reality than the one they left behind,” said Bob Parsons, a Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War and founder and CEO of PXG. “Although numerous programs and organizations exist to assist our nation’s veterans, none measure up to the immediate and long-term support provided by the fund.”
