St. Norbert College Receives $30 Million From Former Trustee's Family

St. Norbert College in De Pere, Wisconsin, has announced a $30 million gift from the family of alumnus Donald J. Schneider ('57), who served the school as a trustee and adjunct instructor.

Schneider, who died in 2012, was the president, CEO, and chair of Schneider National and taught finance and business administration at the college. With his wife, Pat, Schneider was a longtime supporter of Catholic education, and in 2014 his widow gave the college $7 million to establish the Donald J. Schneider School of Business and Economics and launch a master of business administration program. Made in honor of Schneider's legacy of service, the gift from his family will be applied to the college's endowment.

"We are honored and humbled by the remarkably generous gift from the Donald J. and Patricia A. Schneider Family and by their enduring devotion to helping others [in] our community," said St. Norbert College president Brian Bruess. "Their gift will help St. Norbert College students for generations to come by providing a rigorous educational experience that engages them in community service and developmental experiences working with local organizations."
