Stephens Family Foundation awards $25 million to Little Rock school
The Stephens Family Foundation has committed $25 million to the Episcopal Collegiate School Foundation in Little Rock, Arkansas, in honor of the school’s 25th anniversary, the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reports.
The Episcopal Collegiate School was established in 1998 with the help of investments from Warren and Harriet Stephens. The gift will be used to maintain facilities, provide a “safe and secure” learning environment, and help compensate and provide benefits to faculty and staff. In addition, the gift will fill the gap between tuition revenue and operating expenses.
“To honor the past, we need to ensure its future,” Harriet Stephens told the Gazette. “When you commit to something like this, it never ends. You don’t build a school and say you’re finished....It’s a journey.”
