TheDream.us has announced pledges totaling $30 million in support of its national scholarship fund, which aims to provide scholarships to at least five thousand undocumented immigrants with DACA (deferred action for childhood arrivals) status.

Commitments of $15 million each from former Washington Post publisher Donald E. Graham and the Pershing Square Foundation, which was established by Giving Pledge signatory Bill Ackman, will provide twelve hundred "DREAMers" with $25,000 scholarships that can be used to obtain a bachelor's degree at any of TheDream.us national partner colleges. The latest pledges from Graham and Ackman are in addition to previous commitments of $10 million made by each.

Established last year, TheDream.us aims to help immigrant youth with DACA status to complete a college education. Amounts of the awards vary depending on a student's demonstrated financial need and tuition costs at the college of his or her choice. DREAMer Scholars must maintain a cumulative 3.0 GPA, remain continuously enrolled, and remain DACA eligible.

"My great grandparents were immigrants to this country and ultimately paged the way for my parents and me to get a wonderful education," said Ackman. "I am delighted to be able to pay it forward by expanding the Pershing Square Foundation’s partnership with TheDream.us."
