Three Rivers Foundation awards $1.4 million to Oregon organizations
The Three Rivers Foundation, the charitable arm of the Three Rivers Casino Resort, has announced grants totaling $1.4 million—its largest grantmaking cycle in its 10-year history—in support of 100 organizations from six Oregon counties.
Established by the Confederated Tribes of Coos, Lower Umpqua, and Siuslaw Indians, the foundation has awarded nearly $2.7 million since 2012 in support of innovative ideas, collaborative approaches, and grassroots efforts to address needs in the areas of education, health, public safety, gambling addiction, the arts, the environment, cultural activities, and historic preservation. Its 2022 grantees include Food Backpacks for Kids in Florence, which addresses child hunger; the Boys and Girls Clubs of Emerald Valley, which provided services throughout the pandemic; and the Central Coast Humane Society, which will provide spay/neuter services as well as vaccinate, treat injuries and illnesses, and help feed cat colonies, which provide rodent control for their caregivers.
“These grants trickle down and make a positive impact on communities in Coos, Curry, Douglas, Lane, and Lincoln counties,” said Three Rivers Foundation board chair Doug Barrett. “It has been great to work with our board to give away this money to so many great organizations and Tribes that help so many families and individuals.”
