Trinity Church Wall Street awarded $57 million in grants in 2022
Trinity Church Wall Street in New York City has announced that it awarded grants totaling $57 million in 2022 in support of local community organizations and international efforts to address unfolding crises in housing, mental health, economic insecurity, and global migration.
The 2022 grants are the largest annual distribution in the Episcopal parish’s 325-year history and represent a more than 23 percent year-over-year increase in giving. Recipients include Borough of Manhattan Community College ($750,000), which will support the short-term needs of housing-insecure students; Anthos|Home ($1 million), which will fund services for rent subsidy application and voucher programs in New York City; GatherLab ($1.2 million), which will develop a national network of faith leaders to address economic justice; Fountain House ($300,000 grant and $750,000 program-related investment), which will expand peer-led programming to address mental illness; and more than 20 organizations—including Women in Need, Providence House, and Housing Works—receiving grants totaling more than $2 million in support of asylum seekers arriving in New York City. In addition, Episcopal Relief & Development was awarded a $5 million grant to bolster a multiyear partnership delivering emergency relief and supporting economic resilience worldwide.
“Trinity’s grantmaking has increased seven-fold in the four years since we developed our current strategic initiatives,” said Trinity Church Wall Street managing director of grants management Holly Coats. “During that time, we have sought to respond to needs, build long-term resilience, and affirm the dignity of all people in our society.”
