Trinity University receives $25 million gift for business school

Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, has announced a $25 million gift from alumnus Michael Neidorff ('65) and the Neidorff Family Trust in support of its School of Business.

The single largest gift in the university's history will support multiple scholarships, an endowed faculty position, and enhanced teaching, collaboration, and working spaces designed to benefit the entire campus community. In recognition of the gift, the school will be named the Michael F. Neidorff School of Business.

Neidorff has served on Trinity's board of trustees since 2005 and, during his tenure as board chair from 2016 to 2018, oversaw the completion of the Campus Master Plan, which called for renovation of the Chapman and Halsell Centers and construction of a new building in that complex. The renamed school of business will be housed in the Chapman Center, which is slated to be completed in 2023.

"I attribute my accomplishments in part to the education I received at Trinity University," said Neidorff, who is chair and CEO of healthcare enterprise Centene Corporation. "Additionally, I believe it is important to support your alma mater to whatever extent you can, therefore helping to ensure opportunities for future generations."
