University of Colorado Boulder receives $5.5 million for athletics

The University of Colorado, Boulder has announced a $5.5 million gift from alumnus Jeff Crawford ('90) and his wife, Orsi, in support of the athletics program.

Awarded through the Crawford Family Foundation, the largest one-time gift in the history of CU Athletics will support the Crawford Family WHOLE Student-Athlete program, a comprehensive approach centered on wellness, health, and optimal life experience (WHOLE) that combines CU's individual student-athlete support services into a comprehensive, evidence-based strategy aimed at optimizing data to produce success at the individual, team, and department levels. The project includes individual programs dedicated to the physical, psychological, academic, and career health of student athletes. Through the program, individual data will be collected to produce individual, team, and overall dashboards as well as to help create optimal performance plans for every student-athlete.

The Crawfords' previous support for the university includes a gift that named the Crawford Club at the CU Champions Center.

"This is exactly the type of thing we want to support," said Crawford. "This is a way to help student-athletes achieve success when they are at Colorado and also help prepare them to become future leaders when their careers in sports are over. It is a way to maximize all the opportunities they have at CU — and I think it is something that parents will want their kids to be part of."

"Crawford family provides CU athletics with largest one-time gift ever." University of Colorado press release 08/02/2021.
