University of Missouri College of Business receives $5 million gift
The University of Missouri Trulaske College of Business has announced a commitment of $5 million from Pinney Allen and family in support of student scholarships and programs.
The gift, which will establish the Allen Access Program, includes $3 million from Pinney Allen and her husband, Charles Miller III, and $2 million from the estate of Allen's brother, W.D. Allen, an adjunct professor and coordinator of the Allen Angel Capital Education Program and for whom the program is named. The program, which will form the umbrella under which the College of Business access programs will fall, will provide scholarships and programs to assist underresourced and underrepresented students.
W.D. Allen received a bachelor's degree and a doctorate from the Trulaske College of Business; and Pinney Allen graduated from University of Missouri High School and studied economics at Harvard University.
"This commitment is a remarkable investment in the future of Mizzou and the Trulaske College of Business," said MU vice chancellor for advancement Jackie Lewis. "It's an incredible example of the great things we can achieve when we pair donors with a vision with an institution that can make that goal a reality."
