University of Richmond receives $10 million from anonymous alumnus
The University of Richmond has announced a $10 million gift from an anonymous donor in support of scholarships for students at the Robins School of Business.
The gift from a Robins School alumnus will establish an endowed scholarship fund. The donor, who studied accounting and finance, worked his way through college, stocking groceries to fund his tuition and other expenses. He told university spokespeople that he established the scholarship to help make a Richmond education accessible for other ambitious students like himself, and he hopes that recipients will one day add to the fund as well, to pay it forward to future generations of students.
“Access and affordability are among our highest priorities at the University of Richmond. We offer an exceptional educational experience for outstanding students from all over the country and world,” said University of Richmond president Kevin F. Hallock. “This gift will have an incredible impact on our ability to enhance financial support for remarkable students, and it is an inspiring example of Spiders helping Spiders.”
