Illinois-based US Foods, a national foodservice distributor, has announced $12 million in food, supplies, and monetary contributions in 2023 made by the company and its employees in support of hunger relief efforts across the United States.

In partnership with Feeding America, a national network of food banks, US Foods delivered approximately 225 truckloads of supplies and food—the equivalent of five million meals—to more than 50 food banks. The company also supported an employee community service and fundraising initiative and a customer matching gift program.

In addition, US Foods awarded $100,000 to the American Red Cross in support of Hurricane Idalia relief efforts and $360,000 in scholarships to students nationwide pursuing degrees in culinary arts, baking and pastry, chef training, and business management.

“US Foods is in the unique position to harness the power of food to deliver a meaningful impact,” said US Foods CEO Dave Flitman. “We are excited to continue this important work through increased investments with hunger-relief organizations.”
