Arkansas Children’s Hospital (ACH) in Little Rock has announced a $5 million grant from the Whitaker Family Foundation.

The funding will support ACH’s system-wide expansion to increase access to pediatric care and “enhance exceptional outcomes” for children at ACH and Arkansas Children’s Hospital Northwest (ACNW) in Springdale. The expansion will include additional surgical space, operating rooms, procedure rooms, hospital beds, and clinic space.

“We are deeply committed to serving children and families in northwest Arkansas, including my own family,” said foundation chair Larry Whitaker. “Some of my grandchildren have been patients at ACNW, and it is gratifying to know that [our] philanthropic contributions [are helping to provide] 200,000 children living in this region convenient access to comprehensive pediatric medical care.”
