Wyss Foundation awards $2.5 million to shape tax, budget policies
The Wyss Foundation in Washington, D.C., has announced a grant of $2.5 million to the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, a nonpartisan think tank.
According to the foundation, the grant will support CBPP's efforts to inform and shape policies in tax and budget policies aimed at reducing poverty, promoting equity, and building opportunity for low-income people and communities. "The coronavirus pandemic has pushed many Americans already living on the edge into severe economic distress," said Wyss Foundation president Molly McUsic. "Now more than ever, CBPP's advocacy for low-income people and communities is vitally important, and we are proud to support this effort."
"The COVID-19 pandemic has both shined a light on and exacerbated economic and racial inequities," said CBPP president Sharon Parrott. "The Wyss Foundation's generous contribution is critical to CBPP's work to develop and promote policies that would reduce hardship among those most impacted by the health and economic crisis and help the nation build toward a more equitable and just recovery."
