Youth Organizations Umbrella Receives $2.5 Million in Gifts
The Youth Organizations Umbrella has received commitments totaling $2.5 million from Jennifer N. Pritzker and the Lewis-Sebring Family Foundation for construction of a new headquarters, the Evanston Review reports.
The gifts of land and cash will enable the youth-development organization to create experiential learning spaces for youth, office space for staff, and new opportunities for collaboration among local youth-serving agencies. The new headquarters will be built on vacant properties valued at $1.5 million that Pritzker purchased in 2013. The Lewis-Sebring Family Foundation has pledged $1 million for the project.
"We truly admire the commitment of [Jennifer] Pritzker and the Lewis-Sebring family to our Evanston community," said Y.O.U. executive director Seth Green. "With their support and that of many others in our community, we look forward to realizing a transformational new headquarters for Y.O.U. and the youth and families we serve."
