#Charity
Mission:
To connect IT professionals with high-impact nonprofits in need of tech help by providing a platform that matches individual IT projects with a properly skilled IT volunteer.
Background:
Launched in 2015 by founder Jozsef Czapovics, #Charity hand-picks nonprofit projects that require specific IT skills and, through its SmartMatch algorithm, matches them with volunteer IT professionals from around the world.
Outstanding Web Features:
Under the Discover tab, visitors to the site can read about open projects and, by clicking on the Project tab, follow the progress of projects that have been matched with an IT professional. Each project uses one or more hashtags (e.g., #JavaScript, #WebDesign, #WebDevelopment, #ApplicationDevelopment, #GraphicDesign) to indicate the type of assistance that project needs. Visitors also have access to a helpful information page that explains how the site works and details the organization's commitment to ongoing support after a project has found a home. To register on the site, nonprofits and IT professionals have the option of logging in via Linkedin or of providing their name and an email address. In addition, IT professionals (#ITProsWhoCare) who have registered on the site are spotlighted via the #Charity blog.
