Community Leadership Board Bank

Community Leadership Board Bank

Mission:
To link local volunteers with board positions at nonprofit organizations in the United Way's forty-town region of north central Connecticut.

Background:
The Community Leadership Board Bank (CLBB) is a partnership between Leadership Greater Hartford and the United Way of the Capital Area and a program of the Nonprofit Resource & Training Center. The program recruits people for nonprofit board membership who have either taken the United Way's Board Excellence training, are graduates of Leadership Greater Harford or other local leadership programs, or are identified through other community organizations as possessing the skills and expertise necessary for board membership. CLBB maintains a database of prospective board members, their skills, and interests, available to nonprofit agencies as a resource when they are searching for new board members.

Outstanding Web Feature:
CLBB's Web site helps link local volunteers with board positions at nonprofit organizations in United Way's forty-town region. Agencies wishing to post available board positions can use an online form to enter information about their organization and the kinds of board services that are being sought. Individuals interested in being considered for a board position with an area nonprofit agency can enter their information and qualifications on another online form. All information received from agencies and prospective board members, including their skills and interests, are entered into a single database that can be searched by agencies and individuals alike as a resource when searching for new board members or positions.
