Complete College America
Mission:
To significantly increase the number of Americans with a college degree or credential of value and close attainment gaps for traditionally underrepresented populations.
Background:
Established in 2009, Complete College America is a national nonprofit that aims to boost the nation's college completion rate through policy changes at the state level and by building consensus for change among state, higher education, and national policy leaders. Since the organization's inception, twenty-nine states have joined its Alliance of States and agreed to set degree goals, develop and implement action plans to meet those goals, and collect and report student outcome data on their progress toward those goals.
Outstanding Web Features:
The Complete College America site features an interactive map that visitors can use to access college completion data by state; information about the Alliance of States, including downloadable reports on states' graduation rates; guides and templates to help states and campuses improve their data collection and reporting; and college completion shortfall graphs. Visitors to the site can also watch videos in which students share their education experiences and/or browse resources and reports related to the organization's focus areas, including performance funding, "time to degree," remediation, and structure.
