Ebola Response Tracker
Mission:
To ensure that major donors deliver on their pledges of assistance in response to the Ebola outbreak in West Africa.
Background:
Launched by ONE, an international campaign and advocacy organization, the Ebola Response Tracker highlights assistance pledged and disbursed by major donor governments as well as a handful of private-sector donors. The goals of the site are to make sure humanitarian aid commitments to countries in the region are delivered in a timely fashion; that new commitments do not cannibalize other investments in the region; and that good government and civil society groups can track commitments and hold donor governments accountable for their commitments.
Outstanding Web Features:
Visitors to the site can examine and compare how much each donor government or private-sector donor has pledged for Ebola response efforts as well as to what types of organizations; how much of the pledged amount has been disbursed; whether a deadline for disbursement has been set; whether the source of the assistance has been clearly stated; and whether the commitment is in addition to other investments in the region by the donor. The site also notes in-kind contributions and the number of healthcare workers mobilized, and ranks donors by total pledged and their pledges as a share of gross national income.
