Background:
Edutopia is the Web site of the George Lucas Educational Foundation (GLEF), a nonprofit established in 1991 by filmmaker George Lucas to encourage education reform, with a focus on technological adaptation. The site functions as a source of best practices, media, and other resources designed to help stimulate the conversation about education reform among educators, parents, students, and policy makers.

Outstanding Web Features:
Edutopia offers pages dedicated to each of GLEF's six core concepts — integrated studies, project learning, social and emotional learning, technology integration, teacher development, and comprehensive assessment — with each page containing relevant videos, real-life examples, and blog posts. The site also features special reports on key educational topics; an archive of articles from Edutopia magazine; a groups section, in which educators can network and collaborate with each other; a series of webinars for educators, parents, and administrators; and dozens of videos, on everything from college-bound culture to profiles of successful education projects and interviews with education reform leaders, that visitors can rate, embed, and download.
