GiveMob
Mission:
To enable iPhone and Android users to seamlessly donate small sums to charities every day through text-to-donate fundraising campaigns.
Background:
Launched in 2014 by Hiraa Khan, GiveMob is a free charitable giving app designed for iPhone and Android to facilitate text donations of $5 to $10 to the causes users care about. By taking advantage of existing text-to-donate fundraising campaigns and eliminating the hassle of entering credit card and other types of information, the app aims to reach millennial donors who "live" on their smartphones.
Outstanding Web Features:
Visitors to the site can download the app for free via GooglePlay or the iTunes App Store, register, and choose from among fifteen issue areas — ranging from education and bullying prevention to health, job creation, and veterans affairs — to access a list of active text-to-donate campaigns. Users of the app can donate up to $30 per campaign, per mobile billing cycle, and in most cases 100 percent of their donations go to the nonprofit (depending on the third-party nonprofit mobile donation provider the campaign uses). Nonprofit organizations with an existing text-to-donate code can register with GiveMob for free to be featured in the app.
