HopeMob

Mission:
To provide people with generous hearts a simple, focused, trustworthy way to give directly to people with pressing needs.

Background:
Launched in 2012, HopeMob is a crowdfunding site that makes it easy for people with limited means, access to technology, and/or time to connect with donors who are interested in giving directly. Initially designed to harness the energy of flash mobs to generate spontaneous yet organized support for a single cause, the platform now hosts dozens of independently verified stories of need which generous strangers can "mob" with donations of time, money, and social media awareness

Outstanding Web Features:
Visitors to the site can view stories submitted by people in need and make a donation, browse fundraising success stories, sign up for e-mail alerts, or submit a story of need by creating an account and filling out a detailed application. HopeMob directs 100 percent of all donations to the cause in question — without taking a percentage to cover processing fees — and directly pays the bills or makes the purchases described in the request for help. Visitors to the site can become a member and help cover its operating expenses.
