Latin America Donor Index

Latin America Donor Index

Mission:
To help nonprofit organizations find resources and donors and provide opportunities for grantmakers to learn about peers working on similar issues or locations.

Background:
The Latin America Donor Index is the brainchild of Fundación AVINA, a Panama-based organization that supports sustainable development in Latin America, and the Inter-American Development Bank's Office of Outreach and Partnerships, which works to develop alliances and strengthen its dialogue with other development organizations. Launched in 2009, the Web site provides information on nearly 550 donors in Latin America and the Spanish-speaking areas of the Caribbean to encourage donor and civil society organizations to partner, act synergistically, and build common agendas to bolster the region.

Outstanding Web Features:
Available in English, Spanish, and Portuguese, the Latin America Donor Index features an alphabetical index of donor organizations; a resource library, including the latest trends in Latin America and the Caribbean; and an FAQ page. Visitors to the site also can browse the donor database through an interactive map.
