PD Online Research
Mission:
To accelerate therapeutic development for Parkinson's disease and enable informed decision making by scientists and funders.
Background:
A project of the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, PD Online Research (PDOR) works to foster technical discussion and problem solving in Parkinson's disease science, with the goal of accelerating research into better treatments and, ultimately, a cure for PD. The site makes it possible for members to pose questions and engage in open, real-time debate that moves the PD research forward while creating a readily accessible knowledge base for others to explore.
Outstanding Web Features:
Once registered, funders, scientists, clinicians, and allied health professionals can instantly post scientific commentary on PDOR without moderation. Visitors to the site can submit questions and participate in ongoing conversations; browse an archive of research questions as well as the PD Guide; and search clinical trials and PD research papers. The PDOR Web site also offers information about funding opportunities as well as PD-related groups and events.
