Point K Learning Center
Mission:
To provide tools and resources that help nonprofits and funders boost their skills and knowledge, connect with their peers, and improve their effectiveness.
Background:
Launched by the Innovation Network in 2005, the Point K Learning Center features tools and resources to help nonprofits plan and evaluate. Point K community members have unlimited access to InnoNet's online tools, know-how, publications, and links. The center is collaborative, so users can share their work, get reviews and comments, or work together with colleagues, and the system can be customized to meet specific organizational needs. Point K's tools and resources are available at no charge, though free registration is required.
Outstanding Web Features:
Once registered, Point K users can access the Organizational Assessment Tool (OAT), a survey-based engine that generates a customized report about an organization's level of development and spurs planning. The Logic Model Builder (LMB) guides organizations through an interactive process of thinking about program goals, activities, and resources, and how the elements work together to produce intended outcomes. Point K's Evaluation Plan Builder (EPB) enables nonprofit staff to evaluate their programs and themselves. Together, the two building tools help users define what program success will look like before it occurs and how to recognize when it has been achieved. The EPB can also be used for outcomes evaluation and implementation evaluation.
