PolicyPitch

PolicyPitch

Mission:
To provide a platform where people can pitch their policy ideas and track local legislation.

Background:
PolicyPitch enables ordinary citizens to pitch new policy ideas and collaborate with others to refine and promote their ideas. In an effort to challenge current thinking on where and how policy is born, the site uses new media to bring the legislative making process to voters.

Outstanding Web Features:
Registered users of the site can pitch their own policy idea, track other user-submitted ideas, vote to support or oppose a policy idea, contact an elected official about a specific piece of legislation, and/or post a comment on a policy profile page that includes detailed information about the policy such as when it was introduced and by whom. Users can also track official legislation filed in Arizona, California, Kentucky, Louisiana, Nevada, North Carolina, and South Dakota, and Vermont as well as local policy and legislative proposals in all fifty states; receive notification when a policy idea receives a vote, a comment, or is passing through the U.S. House and Senate; or track elected officials and specific issue areas.
