SparkAction

SparkAction

Mission:
To serve as an online journalism and advocacy center for children and youth issues and connect nonprofits and activists with young people themselves.

Background:
SparkAction was launched in 2010 after Connectforkids.org, the YouthPolicyActionCenter, and the National Youth Development Information Center merged under the aegis of the Forum for Youth Investment. In partnership with the National Collaboration for Youth, the Campaign for Youth, and Child Advocacy 360, the site provides information about issues affecting children and youth as well as tools for taking action.

Outstanding Web Features:
Visitors to the site can learn about SparkAction campaigns and issue areas, including health, early childhood development, and first-generation college students; browse featured articles, youth-produced content, and/or success stories from the field; or sign up for the SparkAction bi-weekly e-newsletter. The site also makes it easy for visitors to take action; search for volunteer opportunities; track legislation and legislative votes; and access tools designed to help them communicate, fundraise, evaluate, and advocate for their work.
