VolunteerResource.org
Mission: To provide an organization the means to improve its volunteer activities.
Background:
The newly launched VolunteerResource.org is an online library of information on volunteering. A collaborative project of the James J. Hill Reference Library in St. Paul, Minnesota, and the Washington, D.C.-based Points of Light Foundation & Volunteer Center National Network, the library provides practical knowledge such as how to recruit volunteers, hold successful community-service events, or create corporate volunteer programs, and is a valuable resource for volunteer managers, businesses, government agencies, nonprofit organizations, and volunteers alike.
Outstanding Web Feature:
The VolunteerResource.org library (free registration required) offers research, trends, articles, case studies, surveys, and information on effective practices related to volunteering and volunteer management. The database may be searched by category or in a more advanced manner using specific information. The interface also allows organizations and authors already represented in the database to submit new or revised content at any time.
