Alzheimer’s Association invests $100 million in research in 2023
The Alzheimer’s Association has announced that it has invested $100 million in research initiatives in 2023.
The organization’s largest investment in dementia research in a single year will go toward advancing understanding of the disease, identifying new treatment strategies, improving care for people with dementia, and advancing knowledge of brain health. The investments are funding the association’s International Research Grant Program, which supports investigators at every professional stage and includes categories designed to address gaps in research efforts, as well as the Part the Cloud initiative, which funds novel research ideas to accelerate them from the laboratory, through clinical trials and into practice.
“As we continue to move research forward and give patients access to novel therapies, I look forward to the opportunities to slow disease progression in the future,” said Part the Cloud grant recipient Ross Paterson.
“As the world’s largest nonprofit funder of Alzheimer’s and dementia research,” said Alzheimer’s Association president and CEO Joanne Pike, “the Alzheimer’s Association is committed to accelerating the global effort to eliminate Alzheimer’s and all other dementia, and, until then, to improve care and quality of life for people living with the disease.”
