Anchorum Health Foundation in Santa Fe, New Mexico, has announced a 10-year, $109 million investment to improve access to health care and influence community and individual health outcomes across northern New Mexico.

The investment begins this year with a $20 million infusion through Anchorum’s Clinical Support Fund, which will focus on three priorities: recruitment and retention of physicians and other clinicians, the initiation and improvement of clinical programs, and expanding access to care across the region. To that end, the fund will address cancer care, maternal health care, primary care, trauma readiness, and building the healthcare workforce.

An initial partner to the fund is CHRISTUS St. Vincent Health System, which has responded to the dwindling care options for expectant mothers in the area. The fund will enable CHRISTUS St. Vincent to expand its obstetrical service line as regional needs continue to increase, as well as support its growing comprehensive cancer care program, the Native Health Navigation program, and an expansion of clinical trials.

“We believe Anchorum’s grant toward the Clinical Support Fund illustrates our shared commitment to address the growing health needs of our region and improve people’s lives,” said CHRISTUS St. Vincent president and CEO Lillian Montoya. “We are excited to continue our collaboration with Anchorum to ensure equitable access to quality health care for patients across northern New Mexico.”
